A very short episode tag for "Bombshells." Cuddy, 137 words, PG, no warnings, no spoilers.
I had some dreams (they were clouds in my coffee)
She knows she might be making a mistake the minute she says it, but she continues to speak. "I'm sorry," she says, and then he's gone, and that part of her life is in the past tense.
Should've known. Should have known, yes, should have known a dozen times before, but she'd always put the hospital first. Protected the hospital's best asset. Now it's her, and Rachel, and she can't pretend anymore. There's no room for error where her child is concerned.
She sits in her office and waits for Wilson. He'll come -- he always comes, he's House's go-between, his emissary to a world always a step behind. This time she dreads his visit.
She'll look into those brown eyes, and see nothing but blue.
