Hi, housefic!

Two items of housekeeping tonight, no pun intended (but happily employed).

First, a big thank you to greenelsewhere for making a header for the community! Any member (or non-member, for that matter) is free to make a banner for the comm. The dimensions should be 960px by 300px, and as many as possible of the show's major characters should be represented. You can send your banner to zulu at zulu.fic @ gmail.com, and I will rotate them monthly (or other periodicity, depending on how many are submitted).

Second, take a look at our nested tag list! I'm quite proud of it. However, right now the tags are in alphabetical order, which might not be the most intuitive when readers are navigating. With that in mind, what would be your preferred order for the following top categories: genre, pairing, rating, threesome, and wordcount? Opinions solicited!

It's been great to see the stories posted. Much appreciation to our members!

The only thing I would change about the tags is either putting 'threesome' right under 'pairing', or making it a subcategory of 'pairing'. It's possible to create as many subcategories as you want, but you might run into problems with the max allowed length (40 characters).

This is a good suggestion, yes. The character limit might be an issue, but I shall fiddle with it and see what I can accomplish.

You don´t know how much the lack of ugly portmanteaus make my little heart flutter.
Also I didn´t get the 22 minutes jokes over at LJ, probably because I have the attention span of doughnut.

Oh, the 22 Minutes joke was that greenelsewhere made another version of the banner, one which would probably be perceived as being in bad taste, so I didn't use it; this one's probably preferable. But I found the other one hilarious.

As long as I'm the comm's tagger, portmanteaux are verboten!

Nested tags! What a cool idea, it makes things so much easier to navigate.

Re the posts themselves, do you plan on having some standardization of post headings and story headers? Just asking.

Thanks! If you're interested in making nested tags for your own journal, I followed a very helpful tutorial by wistfuljane, here.

As far as the headers: *nods*. It's a good question. Mostly I've left it up to the authors' discretion, but if we're getting larger as a community, some guidelines might be called for. I'll see about writing up a mod post on the subject, though I don't think this will be an issue that requires a lot of policing. (Yet--I guess it depends on how popular we become!)
